US Sports Betting Giants Team Up for Responsible Gaming
Seven of the biggest names in US sports betting have joined forces to create the Responsible Online Gaming Association (ROGA). This new group aims to establish better ways to promote safe and responsible gambling practices.
The Players Involved
The companies involved are some of the most well-known in the sports betting industry: BetMGM, bet365, DraftKings, FanDuel, PENN Entertainment, Hard Rock Digital, and Fanatics Betting and Gaming.
What ROGA Will Do
ROGA is committed to making online gambling safer for everyone. They plan to do this by:
- Funding Research: Investing $20 million in independent research on responsible gaming.
- Raising Awareness: Educating both the industry and players about responsible gaming practices.
- Setting Standards: Developing best practices for responsible gambling.
- Creating Resources: Establishing a central place for reliable information and certifications related to responsible gaming.
A Leader in Responsible Gaming
Dr. Jennifer Shatley, an expert with over 25 years of experience in the gaming industry, will lead ROGA. She has a strong background in responsible gaming, having previously worked with Caesars Entertainment and the UNLV International Gaming Institute.

Why This Matters
This is the first time a group has focused solely on responsible gambling in the online space. While other organizations help problem gamblers, ROGA wants to prevent problems from happening in the first place.
Impact on Online Casinos
Although ROGA's main focus is sports betting, its work will likely have a positive impact on online casinos as well. Making gambling safer is a good thing for everyone involved.
